"Buckles, stirrups, plugs, valves, latches, wire. They serve under orders, sulk under strain, revolt under contempt. On a bad day a relic turns on you. On a rich one it escorts you to a city a day early, grants you a platform mob."

Traveller's Armamentarium: Volume the First (Ten Seconds of War — Or, It Leaves an Impression) is a 98-page literary companion set in the terrestrial borderlands of Ablahshikar.

Written by Samekh Meryuiet, the volume abandons high-level cosmology for the ground-level friction of sappers, outriders, provisioners, and exhausted officers. Each chapter examines a piece of frontier hardware, shifting across field memoirs, Imperial Bureau of Affairs forms, court depositions, ballads, and banned barrack plays.

"And, ahem, they were actually written during my solo journeys across the borderlands, and although I'd hate to admit, all the characters had prototypes so I'd wish they'd never come across this picaresque... Or would they?"
—Samekh, Developer of Ablahshikar
